Unmasking the Poet.....

The more I delve into poetry, as a form of expression, the more I am discovering that it is difficult to be truthful. One needs to appear au fait with it all, and that to be open and raw is to risk looking silly. This is wrong! I'm guessing that most poets already know this but I have been a tad slow on the uptake. To write poetry that is unmasked does mean risks are taken but how can one write any other way?! So, cautiously but with determination, I am going to try to write more openly and honestly, thus enabling what is inside this clay frame to at last emerge.....

Stilted, clipped, boxed in;

masked and hidden poetry

denies honesty.....
