The grooves of time and age now show
with life-long salty tears that flow;
O faithful Sir your life draws near
the etches in your face are clear,
that you have run a grueling race
but death now cuts across your face.....

A dverse poets prompt to write a 44 word quadrille which must include some form of the word 'groove'. I originally had put in the word 'such' a grueling race, to make sure my quadrille was exactly 44 words. However I have since edited the word 'such' out, as the iambic meter became confused. So now it is a quadrille with 43 words! Ooops! Plus I have altered the line quantity to be more compact. Always learning!
